SpineCare Long Island

SpineCare Long Island is a multi-disciplinary spine center that combines the expertise of board-certified neurosurgeons and interventional pain management specialists. The spine center helps those with back pain and neck pain explore non-surgical treatment options. If spine surgery is necessary, because of a herniated disc or spinal fracture, the spine surgeons emphasize minimally invasive spine techniques and instrumentation that greatly reduces the length of the incision, lessens time in the hospital and provides a faster recovery with less discomfort.

SpineCare Long Island was founded in 2017 by Dr. Kevin Mullins, Dr. Salvatore Zavarella and Dr. Amit Sharma who believed spine care could be improved with a spine center approach that combined the expertise of interventional spine and pain management physicians and spine surgeons who would collaborate for the benefit of the person with back or neck pain. The spine center has affiliate spine therapists that work closely with the physicians to provide customized home exercise programs that make the back and neck stronger, more flexible and resistant to future strain.

"Most amazing staff in any location and they are always polite pleasant & kind & go above and beyond for the patients .I recently had a glitch in my insurance and I had a staff member Laura actually take the time to rectify and not even a word about it I actually asked in amazement how did she do it? It was actually effort which most ppl today would just let it go if they pushed a button and it didn’t get approved so always always have my gratitude because when your in pain and need help they are there for you. Dr Mullins I could never be more grateful for I was up and working feeling great in 3 weeks after 4 discs were replaced."

"There is not enough space to fill the praises I have for Dr Sharma. He is compassionate and a great listener. The staff at spinecare is very friendly. I received text reminders for my appointment, which was quite helpful. He showed me my MRI on a large screen TV. I was amazed how much time he spent with me going over the problem and treatment steps. I waited too long to finally have the root blocker. I am glad my pain has resolved after a single shot. I went to work the next day and felt normal. I have felt my usual self after almost a year of suffering, failing therapy, adjustments and everything possible. Thanks Dr Sharma!"

Pain is not a good indicator of when to see a doctor for a spine problem. While a back spasm can be excruciating, the good news is that ligament strain doesn’t require surgery.
